Occupational
therapy
We walk with your child to explore the world
What do we do in occupational therapy?
Did you know that if your child processes and responds to sensory information appropriately, he or she will learn better?
Therefore, through play and adapted activities, the occupational therapist will help your child regulate his or her sensory responses and reach the maximum potential in physical, cognitive and emotional development.
We can help your child:
If your child has difficulty developing gross or fine motor skills
If your child has problems doing everyday activities such as dressing, eating or washing
If your child shows difficulties in learning or concentrating at school
If your child has problems regulating her emotions or responding appropriately to different situations
If your child has sensory sensitivities that affect his or her ability to participate in activities
If your child gets scared or stressed by any stimulus
If your child is very restless and does not measure risks
And much more...
Frequently asked questions
Can I join my child's therapy sessions?
Of course! If your child is young, you should join the session to learn how to apply the strategies at home.
What does an Occupational Therapy assessment usually involve?
First, you will have a meeting with the therapist to learn about your child's motor development, autonomy, and sensory integration.
Then, the therapist will observe your child's skills through specific activities and games.
Finally, objectives, expectations, and next steps will be discussed with the therapist.
What is the frequency and duration of each session?
Typically Occupational Therapy sessions are 45 minutes, and your therapist will spend 15 minutes after the session is complete on required documentation, cleaning and discussion with other members of the care team if required.
After the evaluation, your therapist will inform you about the recommended frequency
